During the first 72 hour Innovation Race® ever the four groups made 22 salable projects with 7 patent applications and had 2 projects sold before the race was over. Kaj had not only proven that innovations are independent from lucky strikes but that innovations instead can be purposely produced in a professional process. Since then Innovation Plant has managed more than 50 races.
And not global only in the sense of geography but also in diverse mindsets and cultures. No matter possible differences, within an organisation or in relation to the world outside, the innovation process must get what it requires to get relevant results.

The Plant Process is a structured creative innovation process which rather consists of many lateral or parallel minor processes. One for each single ambition, idea or solution. These individual processes all go through or perform their development steps in their own processes but in time usually close to the other parallel processes which all together creates a sum process. The individual processes, and consequently the general and sum process follows a common Road map with 10-12 steps dependent on the mission and set up. The road map can be described with division into three general phases that are common for all Innovation Race; Problem (e.g. identification, verification), Solution (e.g. market knowledge, intellectual property rights, design) and Execution (e.g. project planning, sale). The goal is always to reach concrete, relevant and realizable result within the time frame for the Innovation Race. The result gets presented in an exhibition immediately after the finished Innovation Race.
